An introductory course on drawing the human figure. The approach, and technique with a live demonstration and practical application of the concepts using a live model.

Who should take the class?:
Anyone who wants to learn how to draw or paint the human figure with more accuracy and confidence using classical drawing technical/method.

Duration: 10 hours total. Two half day sessions. (Friday, Sep. 26th 1-5pm. Saturday, Sept. 27th 10 – 3pm)

What to expect during the class ….
​

Part 1: Instruction and demo (~2 bours)1.Classical figure drawing terms, concepts and approach. 2.A demonstration of the four key steps to drawing the figure that demonstrates the four-step drawing method
​
Part 2: Practice the concepts (~3 hours)•Student will practice and draw from a live model (at least 3 separate poses), thereby putting into practice the class concepts. Instructor will provide individual critique and guidance.

Day 1 – Focus on Steps 1-2 of the method. Day 2 – Putting all 4 steps together.

Materials ….

3 pencils. Pencils with 3 lead softness.

1 – hard lead. “4H”, “2H”, or “H”

1 – medium softness (HB or B)

1 – soft (4B or 8B)

Kneaded Eraser

Paper. Recommend larger 24x18 paper. (Strathmore, Canson drawing paper). Newsprint quality is paper is perfectly fine. (Minimum size 11 x 14.)
