The practice of using live models in art, particularly for figurative and portraiture art, has a rich history. The use of live models became increasingly prominent during the Renaissance, flourished throughout the Parisian salon period Académie des Beaux-Arts 18th-20th centuries, and continues today as the cornerstone of representational art education at the best international ateliers and art universities.

If you would like to start, improve, regain, or polish your drawing skills, come practice with us in the same manner as Michelangelo, Sargent, Leonardo, Caravaggio, Sorolla!

Other benefits:

-
Anatomical accuracy:
-
Life drawing provides a direct way for artists to study and understand the human body's structure and proportions.
-
-
Observation skills:
-
The practice hones observational skills, teaching artists to perceive subtle details and variations in form and light.
-
-
Artistic expression:
-
While life drawing is often associated with realism, it can also be a tool for exploring personal styles and artistic interpretations.
-
-
Emotional connection:
-
Drawing from life can foster a unique emotional and empathic connection between the artist and the subject.
-
-
Speed and confidence:
-
The practice of life drawing of "quick" poses will naturally help the artist build/gain drawing confidence and speed.
